The Carson City Mint was a U.S. Mint facility that struck coins in Carson City, Nev., from 1870 to 1893, according to the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
In its brief history of the Carson City Mint, the nonprofit organization Carson City Coin Collectors of America notes that the Mint’s most famous products are the Morgan silver dollars.
Coins struck at the Carson City Mint are sought after by collectors. They are identified by the “CC” Mint mark.
The Carson City Mint, located just four blocks from Nevada's Capitol building, now houses the Nevada State Museum.
